Deaththorn Cosplay

My name is Brooke Elizabeth, otherwise known as Deaththorn Cosplay. I am currently a college student, going to school to major in Theatre, specifically costume design. I have been cosplaying since 2009. My best friend and I would make closet cosplays, eventually leading up to producing our own. Once 2014 came around, I finally bought a four day pass, starting with Anime Expo, and went all four days. There, I ran into the people who I consider to be my inspirations. My sister and I were cosplaying as Anna and Elsa on Saturday, and we were pulled over to take photos in a huge group of Disney cosplayers. That is where I met my inspirations, the wonderful Heather, known as Magic Golden Cupcake Cosplay, her delightful sister, Holly Sue, and the sweetest human being, Amber Arden. Not only are they my inspirations, but now I consider them my closest friends. Although I didn't start until 2009, I have loved to sew ever since I was younger. So eventually, that passion turned into the hobby and career path choice that I currently have today. Being a cosplayer is one of the most wonderful choices I have made in my life thus far. The whole process of going through and producing this work of art that you can personally display on yourself is such a wonderful idea. I feel like it is a more intimate way to show art since it is you who is wearing and displaying this design/creation. It is a form of self expression, and allows you to be who you want to be, even just for a short while. I do what I love, and I love what I do. And that will never stop. As long as you follow your dreams, and pursue them 110%, they will come true. Mine did.
